The Andhra Pradesh Real Estate Regulatory Authority (APRERA) on August 12, 2026, issued a circular regarding extension of registration of real estate projects due to 'Force Majeure' under the provisions of Real Estate (Regulation and Development) Act, 2016 as per the Advisory issued by Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs (Housing Division).
The following has been stated: -
•Andhra Pradesh RERA extended the registration and completion timelines of eligible registered real estate projects by 4 months due to the West Asia situation being treated as a force majeure event.
•The extension applies where the original, revised or extended completion date falls on or after February 28, 2026, excluding projects registered on or after August 01, 2026.
•Promoters need not file separate applications or pay fees for this four-month extension.
•The extension does not affect allottees’ rights and remedies under the Real Estate (Regulation and Development) Act, 2016.
